Penicillin, the first true antibiotic, was discovered in 1928 by Alexander Fleming, Professor of Bacteriology at St. Mary’s Hospital in London.

John Logie Baird FRSE was a Scottish engineer, innovator, one of the inventors of the mechanical television, demonstrating the first working television system on 26 January 1926.
