The Panama Canal  is an artificial 82 km (51 mi) waterway in Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean.

The value of tulips during the Dutch Golden Age in the 17th century increased so much that people began using them as a currency themselves. There are records of entire homes being sold for not yet bloomed tulip bulbs.
